I had similar dillema with my leather bags and tried several products with no good results. Then my friend told me that there's a product that equestrians use to clean their leather saddles that should be strong enough to clean your leather goods. I never got a chance to look for it, but you may want to try it. Good luck.

There is a window cleaner from ACE hardware called MoHawk or something like that is that suppose to be good. We have marker on microsuede. The person that came to clean ours told us about it. She had to use her company endoresed products though which only faded the mark. She said it would work on suede and leather.
